A witness in Roubaix observed a spherical object with wings moving silently from east to west. The object ascended vertically and disappeared into the sunny sky. No other witnesses were reported, making verification difficult. Although the witness compared the object to an inflatable advertising balloon, they mentioned a west wind, contradicting that hypothesis. However, weather data from nearby Lille indicated an east wind, which aligns with the object's movement. It is considered that ground-level wind may differ from wind at 100 meters altitude. The chaotic movements of the object are also consistent with an unanchored helium balloon.
