In November 2007, a witness in the Loiret department observed an unusual aerial phenomenon. While driving along a departmental road between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, he and his passenger saw a luminous object rapidly descending toward the ground. The yellowish light had a drop-like shape and moved silently, disappearing after one or two seconds. Although the witness could not recall the exact date (between November 22 and 28), the report notes that the observed phenomenon could be the atmospheric entry of a bolide. The drop-like shape is likely due to the wake left by such meteors as they fall. The case was classified as "B" by the GEIPAN, indicating that a natural explanation was not ruled out, but neither was the possibility of an unusual phenomenon.
