On December 11, 2007, two witnesses in Toulouse observed lights in a cloudy sky. One described white, opaque, oval-shaped objects moving rapidly between clouds, forming geometric patterns. The witness recorded the phenomenon with his phone for 25 minutes, without hearing any noise. Gendarmes reviewed the video and confirmed some movement. Although astronomical error was ruled out, it is likely that the phenomenon was artificial lighting. Lights on clouds are often mistaken for aerial phenomena, and depending on weather conditions, beams may not be visible. This makes it hard to determine if the source was close to the observation area or far away.
