Summary

On January 25, 2008, at 18:15, hundreds of people in the southwest of France observed a bright object crossing the sky. The GEIPAN investigated this phenomenon and ruled out the possibility of it being a space object. Instead, they concluded it was likely a meteorite entering the atmosphere. Based on more than 170 testimonies, investigators mapped a trajectory and estimated an impact point east of Albi. Despite several witnesses providing stones found after the event, no fragments of the supposed meteorite were identified.
