Summary

On May 10, 2008, around 11:30 PM, a witness in Avignon observed a flash in the clear sky. Ten seconds later, they saw two orange, round objects moving toward the southeast. Although the case was only reported through a short email, GEIPAN investigators concluded it was Thai lanterns. The color, shape, and trajectory matched typical descriptions of such lanterns. Additionally, the wind direction recorded that day supports the hypothesis that the lights came from the east, aligning with the witness's observation.
