🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On April 4, 2018, a witness in Lyon noticed a bright object in the night sky. He described a stationary PAN with filaments, which remained visible for 40 minutes. Although he recorded a video, the object disappeared behind a cloud. Three family members also saw it, but only one account was collected. After analysis, the GEIPAN concluded it was Venus. The witness himself mentioned Venus, though he found it brighter and with apparent filaments around it. It was verified that Venus was in the direction indicated—between 280° and 290°—at about 10° altitude. Prolonged observation can create the illusion of rays or filaments. Therefore, the case was classified as A: Venus.
