On July 8, 2008, two observers at the top of Bergiès noticed a bright object appearing and disappearing in the sky. Using a 9x50 telescope, they confirmed it was an oval-shaped object of steel gray color moving slowly. One witness described a pendulum-like motion. The object moved south before disappearing. The witnesses are experienced in both night and day observations, adding credibility to the account. A GEIPAN investigator visited the site a month later but found no conventional explanation. Classified as D1, the case is considered unexplained and somewhat unusual.
