🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On January 1, 2009, at around 0:40 AM, a witness in Strasbourg observed a luminous phenomenon from behind his window. According to the account, a red point crossed the clouds, descended in a curve, moved horizontally, and then stopped. After decreasing in intensity, the object seemed to rise again into the clouds and disappeared. There were no other witnesses or photographic or video evidence. The GEIPAN considered the possibility that it could have been fireworks from New Year's celebrations, a plausible but unverifiable hypothesis due to the lack of additional information. The case was classified as C due to insufficient documentation.
