In January 2009, several residents of Istres observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky that caught their attention. One of them managed to record it, showing a bright ball with a blue halo moving in circular patterns. The main witness indicated that the phenomenon repeated at the beginning of the night in the following days. After investigation, it was determined that what was observed was the planet Venus, very bright at that time. Although surprising, it was not an unknown object, but a familiar celestial body seen from an unusual angle.
