In March 2009, a witness in Marseille submitted two videos recorded by an automatic camera. One shows the path of an airplane, while the other captures a slowly moving bright object. GEIPAN researchers considered it could be a meteor, but doubted due to its apparent slow speed. A possible explanation is that only the final part of the meteor was visible, as the sky was partially cloudy. The witness later sent another video in May showing a rising ball of light with no clear explanation.
