On April 1, 2009, several witnesses in Moselle observed two red spherical objects moving in a straight line without making any noise. The objects gradually disappeared into the distance. Although a coordinated, straight-line movement is described, with wind direction and at low speed, researchers considered the possibility of luminous balloons similar to Thai lanterns.
