On June 7, 2009, a witness took several photos on the Plateau de Caussol in the Alpes-Maritimes. Later, he noticed a ring-shaped object of a silvery color in the left corner of one of the images. The object, located in the top-left corner of the photo, was not observed by the witness at the time. The blurry shape clearly suggests a flying insect, with both body and wings visible, likely very close to the camera lens. Given the landscape and season, the presence of insects is common. The GEIPAN classified this case as "B", likely attributing it to a photo of a small flying insect.
