On July 22, 2009, a witness in Bagneux observed four pale yellow lights moving toward Paris. Upon realizing the sighting, he went to get his camera, but upon returning, only one light remained, which he photographed before it vanished. Investigators considered the possibility of "flying lanterns," also known as "Thai lanterns," a known phenomenon in the region. The wind direction in Paris at the time supported this hypothesis. Although the case was not considered strange, it was deemed of low consistency due to the lack of precise details and some discrepancies between the description and the collected data. Ultimately, it was concluded that this was likely a misidentification of these traditional lights.
