In July 2009, a witness in Cazères observed for a few seconds from their home some luminous phenomena that caught their attention. Between 22:50 and 23:15 at night, they saw bright spheres moving in straight lines without producing any sound, quickly fading away. Although no noise was associated with their movement, the witness captured images showing successive observations. The described features, such as multiple lights and straight trajectories, were linked to what could be the release of flying lanterns. At that time, this kind of event was quite common and had already been reported in local sources.
