Summary

On the night of July 4 to 5, 2009, several people in a garden in Plobsheim observed lights in the sky. These moved quietly and slowly in a V formation, which sparked curiosity and some unease. Suddenly, the lights disappeared. The gendarmerie investigation concluded that they were about fifty Chinese lanterns launched during a wedding at a nearby golf course. Although initially it seemed like an unexplained phenomenon, the explanation turned out to be perfectly conventional, though no less magical for those who saw it.
