A father and his son observed a luminous object in the sky over Golf-Juan. The object, orange in color and spherical in shape, was moving silently at a constant speed. After taking a photograph, they noticed the object moving away and fading until it disappeared behind a hill. Although the witness described it as very large and distant, the GEIPAN concluded it was likely a Thai lantern. The weather conditions and the duration of the observation match the characteristics of this type of object. Confusion about size and distance is common in such phenomena.
