🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On the night of August 15 to 16, 2009, several witnesses in Pornichet (France) saw orange balls in the sky. The phenomenon generated curiosity and someone recorded a video uploaded to YouTube. Although initially intriguing, the GEIPAN classified the case as type B, indicating a likely explanation. After analysis, it was concluded that the lights were most likely Thai-style flying lanterns, a known phenomenon during festivals that can be mistaken for unidentified objects.
