🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On August 15, 2009, at 10 p.m., a witness in France observed a luminous phenomenon for about 40 seconds. The object was bright green in color and elongated in shape, and it produced no sound. It turned out to be the atmospheric entry of a meteorite, with the green hue caused by ionization in the upper atmosphere. The meteorite was also seen from Switzerland down to the southernmost part of the United Kingdom. The GEIPAN classified the case as "A," indicating a plausible and verified explanation.
