A hunter observed a bright cylindrical object over the English Channel at around 5 a.m. on August 31, 2009. Using binoculars, the witness described a uniformly orange, glowing object, almost fluorescent in appearance. Initially stationary, the object began to rise in a swaying motion for about ten minutes before descending in the same way and disappearing. Several hypotheses were considered, such as flares, boats, or aircraft, but none matched the description. Due to the inability to contact the witness and the time elapsed, the case was classified as insufficient for further investigation.
