🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
In August 2009, a group of people in Courtry, France, observed a series of luminous points in the sky. The main witness, who reported the phenomenon three years later, described a formation of red and orange lights moving in pattern before fading out one by one. The testimony was accompanied by photographs, though many people mocked the account. The GEIPAN, a French organization investigating unexplained aerial phenomena, classified the case as likely caused by Thai lanterns. These lights, already available for sale in 2008, can move with the wind and fade progressively, explaining the observed behavior. Despite the explanation, the witness insisted that no other interpretation was possible: an acceleration beyond current technology.
