🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A farmer in the Marne region of France reported observing an object the size of a semi-trailer with many visible lights, but emitting no sound. The incident occurred on October 4, 2009, and was classified as a GEIPAN case B, indicating a very likely observation of a large terrestrial vehicle. The witness was not wearing his glasses at the time, which limited his ability to identify the object with precision. Initially, he thought it was a combine harvester with its work lights on, a common sight in agricultural areas. However, the estimated speed of 80 km/h was too high for such a machine, although reasonable for a special transport convoy carrying agricultural equipment. The lack of sound was explained by wind direction, which carried the noise away from the observer. Despite these considerations, the case remains intriguing due to the detailed description and the inability to conclusively identify the object.
