Oval luminous object over Sarthe in 2009

Summary

In November 2009, a witness in the French region of Sarthe observed an oval-shaped object floating in the air, aligned with high-voltage pylons. The object made no noise and remained visible for about 20 seconds. Despite the clear description from the witness, no other testimonies confirmed the sighting. Further investigation revealed that work had been carried out on an EDF pylon in the area around the same time. Additionally, a military balloon with strong lighting was recorded nearby. These elements allowed investigators to find a plausible explanation for the phenomenon, closing the case without resorting to unexplained hypotheses.
