🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On December 8, 2009, a witness in Calvados observed a luminous ball moving horizontally from west to east. The object was visible for 10 to 20 seconds before disintegrating into two or three fragments. The described phenomenon, with fast horizontal movement and subsequent fragmentation, matches the characteristics of an atmospheric reentry. Although the case was classified as B by the GEIPAN, the detailed description suggests a natural explanation.
