Summary

On January 13, 2010, a driver in Eysines (Gironde) saw a fireball crossing the sky from southwest to north. The phenomenon was so fast that he observed it for only 6 to 7 seconds before it disappeared on the horizon. Intrigued by what he saw, another witness commented on the event on an online forum. A meteor entered Earth's atmosphere around the same time, at 17:35 UTC, which corresponds to 18:35 local time in France. This event was recorded by the French Meteor Observation Network, confirming that the phenomenon was particularly visible in the Gironde region. The coincidence between the testimony and scientific data supports the natural explanation of the event.
