On January 3, 2010, a witness in Lorient, France, observed three round lights flying silently above his garden. The lights moved together at low altitude and then disappeared suddenly. The investigation by the gendarmerie considered the possibility of flying lanterns, given the description and the absence of noise. Although no definitive identification was made, the case was classified as a probable unidentified aerial phenomenon.
The description of three round, silent lights that vanished abruptly generated strong suspicion among investigators. The most plausible hypothesis pointed to flying lanterns, though other explanations were not ruled out. This brief case adds another piece to the long history of UFO sightings in France.
