Summary

On February 7, 2010, at 4:33 AM, a driver on the A1 highway in Martinique was overtaken by a luminous object that moved in a straight line for 300 meters. The witness described it as a "star" that did not twinkle and was observed at an estimated altitude of at least 700 meters. The light suddenly disappeared at the end of the straight road, without producing any sound. After 10 seconds of observation, the GEIPAN considered several hypotheses such as plasma on power lines, reflections, meteors, or visual fatigue, but none could be confirmed or ruled out with certainty. Due to the lack of conclusive elements and the low strangeness of the case — merely a distant luminous point in linear motion — it was classified as "C", indicating an inability to reach a definitive conclusion. However, new information could still confirm or refute any of these hypotheses in the future.
