Summary

On the night of June 5 to 6, 2010, several witnesses in the Lot department observed a bright white light moving rapidly from east to south, low on the horizon. The observation lasted between 5 and 10 seconds. Although the light appeared to move in a straight line, the GEIPAN investigators considered the possibility of a large satellite. Some satellites in slightly retrograde orbits could explain the observed trajectory. However, when the GEIPAN reviewed the case in 2012, it was no longer possible to perform accurate simulations for that date, making a definitive conclusion difficult.

Despite the phenomenon not showing particularly strange characteristics and the testimonies being consistent and precise, the case was classified as C. This category indicates a lack of independent witnesses and corroborating evidence to confirm the nature of the object. While conventional explanations cannot be ruled out, the inability to verify with modern tools leaves the case in a gray area between the ordinary and the unexplained.
