A witness in Corsica observed a white rectangular light crossing the bay at high speed during the early hours of June 6, 2010. The light moved silently in a straight line, which drew attention due to its speed and lack of noise. Although initially considered an unidentified object, the characteristics of the phenomenon, such as wind direction and the shape of the light, suggested it could be a Thai lantern. This hypothesis fit the context of the event, though other possibilities were not ruled out.
The case was classified by GEIPAN as category B, indicating no conclusive explanation was reached. However, the observed elements, such as the absence of sound and the straight trajectory, are common in non-conventional aerial phenomena. Despite the mysterious nature of the sighting, the report suggests it could be an inflated and luminous object typical of celebrations, leaving the door open to a conventional explanation.
