In July 2010, a witness in Cergy (France) observed a bright point moving in a "chevron" pattern at midnight. The case attracted attention due to this unusual movement pattern, with a frequency of approximately two seconds. However, the GEIPAN suggested that the witness might have misinterpreted the blinking lights of an airplane, comparing it to a long-exposure photo of a commercial flight. In the end, the case was classified as "B", meaning a likely airplane sighting.
