A witness reported a series of observations between July 15 and 17, 2010, in Aix-en-Provence, France. Each night, between 10:00 and 11:10 PM, he observed a very bright point in the sky that remained stationary for long minutes, even up to an hour. The object was located in the west direction and appeared to descend toward the horizon. Although other people were present, no other testimonies were recorded. The witness took photographs of the phenomenon, and after reconstructing the observation direction, it was determined that the object was within a cone centered toward the west. No ambiguity was left: the case was classified as an observation of Venus, which had a magnitude of -4.1 at the time, explaining its intense brightness.
