A witness in Seine-Maritime observed several elongated, dark-colored luminous points on July 18, 2010. Initially seen through binoculars and then with the naked eye, the phenomenon seemed unusual at first. However, the characteristics of the observation and the date suggest they were balloons illuminated by the sun. Moreover, the direction in which the objects moved matched the wind direction at the time, supporting this explanation. The witness described a "gray trail," likely due to visual persistence, a common optical effect. The case was ultimately classified as B, meaning it was probably balloons.
