🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On July 9, 2010, at around 10 p.m., two witnesses in Montélimar observed a luminous oval-shaped ball in the sky moving rapidly in a straight line toward the north, without any noise. One of the witnesses took a photo and contacted the local press. Several hypotheses were considered, from a meteor to the International Space Station, but none fully matched the observation. A metallic balloon was also suggested, although its speed would have been slower. Due to the uncertainty, the GEIPAN classified this case as "C," a moderately strange and average consistency report.
