On August 29, 2010, around 4:20 AM, several people in Bracquemont (France) observed two orange glowing points slowly and silently moving across the sky. The press reported similar phenomena the same day, but at 9:50 PM, suggesting either a different event or a repeated observation. Witnesses described reddish-orange spheres moving silently at low altitude, characteristics matching those of traditional "Thai lanterns". These are decorative glowing balloons often released during celebrations, particularly in Asia.
The location, near a manor that frequently hosts weddings, and the timing of the observation (Saturday night to Sunday morning), support the hypothesis that these were indeed lanterns. Although not conclusively confirmed, the GEIPAN classified the case as "B", indicating a plausible conventional explanation. However, the consistency of the details and the absence of noise continue to raise questions about what was actually seen.
