In October 2010, two people observed a triangular phenomenon flying over the Golfech nuclear power plant. They described it as a black triangle with blinking white lights at the tips and a red blinking light in the center. The object flew silently at low altitude, in a dark and cloudy sky. One of the witnesses recorded a video with their phone before the object disappeared toward Saint Loup. Initially thought to be a drone, the investigation became complicated by discrepancies in the testimonies and the quality of the evidence.
The GEIPAN, a French organization responsible for studying such cases, concluded that the phenomenon consisted of three light points arranged in a triangle around a red light. However, the witnesses did not agree on key details, and the recorded video did not show the object, but rather streetlights. This raised doubts about the reliability of the testimonies. Ultimately, the case was classified as category C due to insufficient reliable information. Despite the uncertainties, the phenomenon remains intriguing and lacks a clear explanation.
