🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
A witness reported in 2012 an observation made in 2010, when he saw a bright object in the sky at 1:20 AM using binoculars. He described bright colored points that caught his attention. Astronomical analysis showed that Jupiter, very bright at that time, was in the direction the witness mentioned. However, there was a deviation of about 20 degrees between the observation and Jupiter's actual position. The humid weather and a southeast wind caused strong flickering and brightness, which explain the color changes (green/white/red) the witness saw. Although the GEIPAN concluded it was likely Jupiter, the uncertainty in the exact location prevented classifying it as a definitive case.
