On January 9, 2011, around 6:50 PM, a witness in Sedan observed a series of orange lights appearing one after another and moving silently and slowly at low altitude. The witness recorded the phenomenon starting with the appearance of the third object. Despite the description resembling traditional Thai lanterns, the origin and launch site of the lights could not be determined due to the sparsely populated area. Additionally, some details such as the lights passing behind clouds despite flying low raised doubts. The possibility of a laser was considered, but no visible beam was observed or recorded. Given these uncertainties, the case was classified as "C" by the GEIPAN.
