In April 2011, two witnesses observed lights moving silently over the ocean near Saint-Pierre-Quiberon. The phenomenon occurred between 21:50 and 22:10 on Sunday, April 17, and the movement of the lights was consistent with the wind direction from the east and southeast. Although the description resembles that of traditional Thai lanterns, the fact that it happened on a Sunday is unusual, as this is not a typical day for such events. However, it was during a school holiday period, which might explain the deviation from the usual pattern.
