🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On April 14, 2011, at 21:45, a witness observed a fast-moving light in the cloudy sky above Reims for a few minutes. The light was drawing "figure eights" in the air, a smooth and repetitive motion that caught the observer's attention. The witness described the phenomenon clearly, and GEIPAN investigators concluded it was a laser projector, likely used for a festive animation.
That day happened to coincide with a fair in Reims, supporting the hypothesis that the light came from a spectacular lighting setup. Low clouds made the phenomenon particularly visible, explaining why the witness noticed it so clearly. Although initially unusual, the report concludes there are no unexplained elements in this case.
