On May 13, 2011, a witness in Montmerle-sur-Saône observed a very bright white point in the sky. From their garden, they noticed the object moving northwest without making any noise. The phenomenon lasted less than three minutes, and the witness was the only one to report it. Initially, the point appeared stationary for a few seconds before moving sideways while fading, eventually disappearing. Investigators from GEIPAN considered it could be an airplane whose headlights were directed toward the witness, creating an intense glow. As the plane changed direction, it moved away from the witness's line of sight, explaining the movement and fading of the bright point. Due to the low strangeness of the event, no further investigations were conducted to identify the plane, and the case was classified as "C" due to lack of information.
