In June 2011, several witnesses in the Doubs region of France observed a bright point of light moving regularly along the same trajectory. The observer reported seeing a light traveling from southeast to southwest, a path consistent with the International Space Station (ISS). Investigators from GEIPAN concluded that the object was indeed the ISS, which at the time had a notable brightness (magnitude -3.0), making it easily visible to the naked eye.
Although the reported times did not exactly match the later calculations from the Heavens Above website, this was explained by routine orbital adjustments of the station. Due to the clarity of the observation and the match with the known ISS trajectory, the case was classified as "A," indicating a clear and verified explanation. Cases like this help researchers distinguish between known space phenomena and truly unexplained events.
