🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On June 26, 2011, a person was stargazing when they noticed a bright point moving in the sky. Soon after, five to seven other points appeared, moving slowly and silently in a V formation heading west. The witness described them as orange points and, although he considered the possibility of flying lanterns, he dismissed it. It could not be confirmed whether they followed the wind direction, as the wind was very unstable that night. The observer did not see stars inside the triangle, leading him to believe the points outlined an object, though he might have been dazzled. The hypothesis of aircraft flying in formation toward the Bourget airfield could not be verified, as the investigation was too late. Due to these uncertain or conflicting elements, the GEIPAN classified the case as "C".
