On July 2, 2011, two people in Bergues observed a silent, orange spherical object with flames at its base ascending in the sky. The description matched that of a typical Thai lantern, and its movement was consistent with the north wind of that day. Initially thought to be linked to a local medieval festival, confirmation from organizers couldn't be obtained. A new witness in 2012, along with a photo, confirmed it was a lantern, reclassifying the case. This case illustrates how the ordinary can appear extraordinary under the right conditions.
