Summary

On August 2, 2011, a driver and her son observed a bright white light stationary above the center of Langon in the Gironde region. The phenomenon was visible for a few minutes before the witnesses lost sight of it as they continued their journey. Only the driver's testimony was recorded. Due to the position of the sun, which was setting, several possible explanations were considered: a solar reflection on a distant airplane, a weather balloon launched from Bordeaux-Mérignac, a metallic child's balloon launched from Langon, or even a satellite. Despite these possibilities, the source of the phenomenon could not be identified with certainty. The case was classified as "C" due to the lack of independent testimonies and cross-checks. Although it cannot be definitively concluded, it is most likely a solar reflection on a common flying object.
