On October 30, 2011, between 15:10 and 15:20, a witness observed a luminous point in the sky that was flickering. The object appeared stationary or moving very slowly, with no sound detected during the observation. The photos taken by the witness suggest it could be a balloon, similar to those used by Météo-France for daily weather balloon launches. On that day, Météo-France launched a weather balloon from Bordeaux-Mérignac around 12:00 UTC, which corresponds to 14:00 local time. It is very likely that the witness observed one of these meteorological balloons. For this reason, the case was classified as "B," indicating a probable known cause.
