On October 26, 2011, a witness in Sarthe observed a unique formation of multicolored lights within a dense cloud from their home. The lights, appearing blue, pink, and yellow, blinked without producing any sound. The witness woke their friend, who also saw the phenomenon but quickly returned to sleep. For over an hour, the witness observed the event from different windows, but no photos were taken and no ground traces were found afterward.
The GEIPAN reviewed the case and ruled out conventional explanations such as drones, lasers, or air ionization phenomena. Due to the uniqueness of the testimony and the lack of physical evidence, the case was classified as D1, indicating an unexplained phenomenon. Although the witness felt frightened and eventually went back to sleep, the mystery of the event remains unresolved.
