Summary

On December 10, 2011, a driver on the A16 highway near Froissy reported an unusual aerial phenomenon in a stormy sky. According to his account, he saw "numerous very bright lights" above the horizon, appearing to come from a triangular shape rapidly ascending through the dark clouds. The object would reappear and then quickly disappear heading north. Although other drivers also slowed down, no additional testimonies were recorded. The GEIPAN assessed the case as "moderately strange" but with low consistency due to the lack of information and uncertainty about the exact observation location and directions. Hypotheses such as space debris re-entry or sky lanterns were considered but did not fully align with the witness's description. Due to insufficient data, the case was classified as C.
