🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On January 9, 2012, at 7:02 AM, a driver in La Montagne (44) observed a luminous phenomenon in a cloudy sky. He noticed two concentric bright circles made up of rounded, discontinuous elements. The object remained visible for nearly a kilometer and disappeared after two minutes. Upon reaching a highway, the witness could no longer see the phenomenon. No other testimonies were collected. The GEIPAN classified the case as "B," suggesting a likely terrestrial explanation. The description of the phenomenon is very similar to the effect produced by certain types of animated projectors, pointing toward a human-made origin. Although the day of the week is unusual for such displays, it could have been a test using rented equipment.
