🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On April 19, 2012, a witness in Chaulgnes (Nièvre) observed a very bright point in the sky towards the north-northwest. Initially stationary, the object appeared to move, causing some confusion. Researchers from the GEIPAN considered the possibility that it was Venus, which was visible in that direction at about 15 degrees above the horizon. However, the movements described did not match those of a fixed celestial body. The hypothesis of an airplane was also considered, but radar records could not be obtained in time. Due to the lack of clear information, the case was classified as "C," meaning not particularly strange.
