🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On April 7, 2012, around 11:30 PM, two people observed hundreds of pink and white glowing points silently moving across a cloudy sky. The objects, which appeared to be moving in an orderly formation, were seen at low altitude, coming from the northeast and heading east. Two distinct groups and individual points followed a chain-like trajectory, drawing attention due to their organization. The observation lasted about 30 minutes, although only one witness account was collected. Although it might initially seem like an unexplained phenomenon, the GEIPAN investigators concluded that these were likely Thai-style lanterns, often used in celebrations such as weddings. Their coordinated movement is due to the wind, which may not be uniform near the ground, explaining the change in direction and the chain-like formation.
