On May 5, 2012, near Mana in French Guiana, a witness observed luminous objects in the sky. He saw several red spheres moving slowly and silently. Although the phenomenon seemed unusual, investigators considered several factors. The red color, slow and simultaneous upward movement, and lack of wind suggested it was not a conventional aerial phenomenon. Additionally, it was a weekday, which favors lantern launches, and a lantern seller had recently appeared in the area. Based on this, it was concluded that the objects were likely sky lanterns, also known as Thai lanterns. The case was classified as B, indicating a very probable observation of this type of object.
